What's the difference between extracting pages and splitting by ranges?

Extracting pages lets you pick individual pages (e.g., 1, 3, 5) and creates a separate PDF for each. Splitting by ranges lets you define page ranges (e.g., 1-5, 6-10) and creates a PDF for each range, which can contain multiple pages.

What is the file size limit?

Each PDF file can be up to 100 MB. The split PDFs will be smaller depending on the number of pages extracted.

Can I extract all pages separately?

Yes! Simply enter all page numbers separated by commas (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) in the "Extract specific pages" mode. You'll get one PDF for each page.

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No! All splitting happens directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDFs never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy and security.

Will the split PDFs lose quality?

No. The splitting process preserves the original quality of all pages. Text, images, and formatting remain exactly as they were in the original PDF.

Can I split password-protected PDFs?

Currently, password-protected (encrypted) PDFs cannot be split. Please remove the password protection first using our Unlock PDF tool.

How many pages can I split?

There's no strict limit. You can split PDFs with any number of pages. The only limitation is your browser's available memory.
